With no sign of forced entry to her home, she suspected her daughter's boyfriend, Joseph Charles Bachelor. Detectives began investigating and discovered that Bachelor had pawned several pieces of women's' jewelry over the past several months, dating back to December. The victim was able to identify her property as some of that which was pawned and sold.</p><p></p><p>Employees at a local gold dealer identified Bachelor as the person who sold some of the victim's property. Forensics Technicians from the Cape Coral Police Department positively matched the fingerprints from transaction paperwork for the gold sales to that of Bachelor.</p><p></p><p>On Thursday May 9th, Bachelor was located by Detectives at his mother's home and taken into custody. The Cape Coral Police Department maintains a strong relationship with Jan Cornell, Robin's mother, to this day.</p><p></p><p>Detectives still work on this active case every week, following up on tips and re-examining evidence. In fact, investigators on the case received a tip last week that they are following up on.</p><p> Jan & CCPD still has hope that this crime will be solved.  She vowed 23 years ago that she'd never give up, never relent in her fight to see her daughter's killer identified and caught.  In the last 2 years, there were a few leads of interest that unfortunately didn't pan out.   Every year at the anniversary, we hope that the publicity is such that it reaches people - people who know or are aware of who is responsible for these murders.  It is our continued hope that it reaches someone - someone who has some information and/or some answers.</p><p>Jan has said, "Thank you all.  Every year I say 'this could be it!' Jenny Fasching, 31, has been arrested on charges of Grand Theft for stealing over $13,000 worth of infant formula from area Publix and Walmart stores.</p><p></p><p>From mid March thru late April, Fasching would steal the infant formula, sometimes as much as $1,800 worth at a time, and sell it on internet sites such as Craigslist.</p><p></p><p>Detectives were able to identify Fasching via in-store surveillance video and developed probable cause for her arrest. On Wednesday May 1st, Cape Coral Police detectives located Fasching at her parents' home and took her into custody. Fasching admitted to detectives that she indeed stole the infant formula and sold it to support a drug habit.</p><p></p><p>Fasching is currently in the Lee County Jail without bond. Andrew Touchstone, 24, was arrested by Cape Coral Detectives on charges of Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Grand Theft Auto and Grand Theft. Touchstone is in the Lee County Jail without bond.</p><p></p><p>On Wednesday morning at 6:30am, a woman was attempting to use the drive-thru ATM at the Bank of America located at 926 Cape Coral Parkway East. As she was preparing to begin her transaction, Touchstone opened the passenger door and jumped into the victim's car. Touchstone demanded money from the victim.</p><p></p><p>The victim drove a short distance (less than one block) in an effort to get Touchstone to exit her car. Touchstone did not exit; instead he pulled a box-cutter style knife and threatened the victim. The victim, fearing for her life, jumped out of the car. Touchstone slid over to the driver's seat and drove off with the victim's car.</p><p></p><p>Detectives viewed the surveillance camera still photos from the ATM and believed the suspect to be Touchstone, who is no stranger to law enforcement. The victim was able to positively identify Andrew Touchstone as the man who robbed her and stole her car.</p><p></p><p>Lee County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Touchstone in Fort Myers on an unrelated warrant last evening and Cape Coral Police Detectives were able to question him about the robbery. Touchstone confessed to robbing the woman and stealing her car to fuel his drug addiction.</p><p>Andrew Touchstone was arrested, booked and remains in the Lee County Jail without bond.</p><p></p><p>"This was a brazen and violent daytime robbery where a truly innocent victim was targeted. These types of cases need to be solved quickly to ensure the peace of mind our residents have come to expect. <p style="text-align: left;">(April 24, 2013)- Cape Coral Police Detectives are investigating an early morning robbery that occurred at the Bank of America located at 926 Cape Coral Parkway East at 6:30am.</p>
<p>A woman was in the drive-thru ATM attempting to withdraw money when a suspect, armed with a knife, jumped into the passenger seat of the vehicle. The female victim exited the car and the suspect moved over into the driver&rsquo;s seat and fled in her vehicle. The suspect was last seen traveling south on Leonard Street from Cape Coral Parkway. The victim did not sustain any injuries.</p>
<p>The suspect is described as Hispanic Male in his late teens or early 20&rsquo;s, 5&rsquo;7 to 5&rsquo;8 in height, with a thin &ldquo;chin-strap&rdquo; style beard and braided hair.</p>
<p>The vehicle is a 2006 Silver Hyundai Sonata with Florida tag L59-0DP.</p>

Cape Coral Police received information that an unknown suspect was calling patient rooms at Cape Coral Hospital, pretending to be affiliated with the hospital. The suspect was claiming to be verifying the insurance of the patients and was asking for their social security number and other personal information.</p><p></p><p>Hospital Staff would not obtain patients social security numbers or any other personal information via telephone. Please do not provide your personal information over the phone to anyone claiming to be employed with the hospital while you are a patient.</p><p></p><p>If you were recently a patient in Cape Coral Hospital and someone called your room and solicited your social security number and/or other personal information, please monitor your bank statements and credit report. Members of the general public need not be alarmed as this is only a training exercise.</p><p></p><p>This training exercise was organized and scheduled weeks before the events in Boston on Monday. However the terrorist attack in Boston underscores the need for public safety agencies at all levels (local, state and federal) to be prepared for such events. The week was started by Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) member, Patricia Anderson in 1981 in Contra Costa, California and has grown into a national celebration. In 1991, the second full week of April was proclaimed National Public Safety Telecommunications Week by Congress and is celebrated each year by APCO International and public safety communications organizations across the nation.</p><p>911 operators and Telecommunicators work 24/7, 365 days year.  They work dayshifts and nightshifts, 12 hours per shift. They are in on holidays and weekends, they have missed birthdays and family events. They report to work when we tell everyone else to stay home due to severe weather or emergency situations yet few people think about them day in and day out.</p><p>911 Operators and Telecommunicators are rarely seen yet their voices are a welcomed sound. They are the ones who answer, "911, what is your emergency?" They are there when you call for help in the middle of the night and they try to stay on the line with you, offering comfort or support until help arrives.</p><p>"The Cape Coral Police Department is grateful for the hard working men and women who work in our Communications Center.
