The Cape Coral Police Department is happy to announce an exciting change to its website and Social Media Program.

Today we are launching a new and improved blog as part of capecops.com.  "Ask CCPD" is changing to a general interest format instead of a just "questions and answers".  Don't worry, we will still take and answer questions.  However, this change will provide us a chance to publish longer-form articles about topics that we as an agency want to talk about like crime prevention, fraud, technology, trends in law enforcement as a whole and how they might impact us here at home.

Our new format also provides us a forum to provide detailed responses to specific issues affecting Cape Coral.  Because sometimes, it takes more than 140-characters or a 60-second soundbite to cover a topic adequately.

Finally, with all of the incredible talent here at the Cape Coral Police Department, this will  provide us a vehicle to showcase some members of our leadership team and other subject matter experts who may contribute articles on a wide variety of topics from time to time.

The blog will feature written articles, videos, and "podcast" audio interviews.  We will do our best to keep it informative and entertaining.

New posts will begin showing up later this week at www.capecops.com/blog.
