Dual purpose K9 ( Narcotics detection / Patrol ) Patrol includes Apprehension / Tracking / Locating tool

Xander has had numerous drug arrests 

Xander loves affection from the people he likes but enjoys his “search” work the most.

Xander is litter mates with K9 Carbon who is also in the unit.

Xander is also one of our 3 SWAT dogs who have been integrated into our SWAT team and tactics. 

Xander took 2nd place in the Inaugural  2018 Florida Gulf Coast K9 competition but did not compete in the next year’s competition.

He also placed 7th place in the Boyton beach competition in March of 2017

Associate degree in Criminal Justice from SWFL Southern Technical College

A Certifying Official for the National Police Canine Association

K9 Xander is my second K9 for CCPD 

Handled and retired K9 Kevin for 7 years 

K9 Kevin took 1st place in the 2013 National Police Canine Association National Competition in drug detection and 2nd place for patrol dogs.

Prior LE experience: 

Air Force Security Forces Military Working Dog Handler / Trainer

Served 8 years with Honorable Discharge 

Combat Veteran for Operation Iraqi Freedom / Enduring Freedom

Specialized in explosive detection

Worked with 2 K9’s in the Air Force both Explosive detection and patrol

Off Duty I continue my passion of working and training dogs.  I have participated, trained and titled canines in various dog sports to include Schutzhund in addition to pet dog training.
