Master Corporal Nickolas Slover grew up in the Department as a young Explorer from 1995-2001 and then started his career with the Cape Coral Police Department in 2002 as a Public Service Aide and became a Police Officer in 2006.  While an officer, Master Corporal Slover has served as a Traffic Homicide Investigator.  He currently is assigned to Patrol on night shift and is a Member of the Honor Guard since 2007, an Explorer Advisor, and is a Field Training Officer.  

Master Corporal Slover served in the US Army, Florida National Guard, B Battery (Pride Rock) 3rd/265thBN ADA from 1999-2008 where he achieved the rank of Sergeant and a Team Leader on an Avenger Crew. Master Corporal Slover, attended basic training in Fort Benning, Georgia and then on to the US Army Air Defense Artillery School in Fort Bliss, Texas where he graduated first in his class, Distinguished Honor Graduate. 

After the terror attacks on September 11th, 2001, Master Corporal Slover was deployed is various missions within the state from force protection at armories and Port Security in the Port of Tampa.  While working as a Public Service Aide, he was called up for active duty for two consecutive years, deploying to MacDill Air Force base as Force Protection and then to the National Capital Region for an Air Defense Mission. Along with being federally activated, Master Corporal Slover was state activated to assist the citizens of Florida in response to Hurricanes and wildfires. 

His awards are as follows:

Army Achievement Medal (2ndAward), Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terror Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with “M” Device, Army Service Medal, Florida National Guard 5 Year Service Ribbon, Florida National Guard Active Service Ribbon, Expert Badge (Pistol), Sharpshooter Badge (Rifle).
