Subject: Suspect in Cape Coral Sexual Assault Case Pleads to 20 Years in Prison

 

On January 18th 2010 Cape Coral Police Detectives investigated a reported sexual crime. A woman reported to police that her 10 year old daughter told her that she had been molested by a family member.

The victim told detectives that the suspect took her into a bedroom,placed a dresser in front of the closed bedroom door so no one could walk in, then he performed sex acts on her.

Detectives Todd Kerns and Christine Montesino-Mena interviewed thesuspect at police headquarters the next day. The suspect, Timothy James Turner, confessed to the crime and was arrested on charges of Lewd or Lascivious Molestation.

On Wednesday February 16, 2011 at 9:00am, Turner took a plea to the charge and was sentenced to 20 years in prison. He will also have to register as a sexual offender.
