Subject: Cape Coral Police Make Arrests in Overnight Convenience StoreRobbery

On Monday evening at 9:27pm, Cape Coral Police were called regarding arobbery at the Citgo convenience store located at 805 Cape Coral ParkwayEast. Numerous calls from witnesses as well as the clerk were received.

The clerk told police that he had stepped outside for a moment when hewas approached by the male suspect. The suspect pushed the clerk backinside of the store as he shouted at him. The suspect told the clerk to"Open the register, give me the money or I'll shoot you!" The suspecthad a cell phone up to his ear and one hand behind his back, toinsinuate that he was armed.

The clerk opened the register out of fear. The suspect reached into theregister and took the $5 and $10 dollar bills. The suspect then shovedthe money into his left pocket and walked out of the store.

Officers canvassed the area and found witnesses that described thesuspects just prior to the robbery loitering behind the store. CapeCoral Police also received a tip from an "ear-witness". As the suspectwas committing the robbery, he was indeed on the telephone. The personon the other end of the phone called CCPD and told them that Bo DanielJones had just committed a robbery.

At that time, Officers had set up a perimeter on the downtown area ofthe Cape. Officers observed a male fitting the description of the robberin the Club Square area (SE 9th Place / SE 46th Lane). Police detainedthe male, along with another male and female that he was with. The malethat matched the description of the robber was identified as Bo DanielJones.

Jones was searched and he was in possession of $220 dollars, all indenominations of $5 and $10. All of the money was shoved into his leftpocket. Witnesses were brought to the area where Jones was detained andthey positively identified him as the robber.

Jones was brought to CCPD Headquarters along with the female and theother male, John Joseph Rice. During questioning, Jones admitted torobbing the Citgo after planning the crime with Rice. The two were goingto split the proceeds from the robbery. The female was Rice's girlfriendand was not involved in the crime and later released.

Bo Daniel Jones was arrested and charged with robbery. John Joseph Ricewas arrested and charged with principal to commit robbery.
