Subject: Cape Coral Woman Shoots at Burglary Suspect Inside of Her Home

On Wednesday April 6th at 8:15am, a Cape Coral woman awoke to someoneknocking loudly on her front door. As she approached the door, she wasstartled by the sight of two men looking through the glass portion ofher front door while ringing the doorbell. She saw the men, describedas 5'7" with a stocky build and the other was 6' with a crew cut both intheir 20's, leave in a newer white Nissan Altima.

Approximately 5 minutes later, the car returned and the suspects beganbanging on the front door, this time with more force. The victim, who isan avid hunter, went to her bedroom and retrieved her hunting rifle. Atthat time, she heard a noise coming from her garage and then saw thestocky male suspect enter her home and begin walking towards herbedroom.

The victim raised her rifle, as the male suspect noticed her standing inher bedroom doorway. The victim fired one round at the male who sprintedout of the garage door and fled the area. The male was not shot duringthe break-in.

At 8:28am, a neighbor called 911 regarding the burglary and gunshot.Cape Coral Police responded to 531 Retunda Pkwy, however the suspectswere gone upon arrival.
