Subject: Cape Police and US Marshall's Office Arrest Shooting Suspect

On June 1st at 8:00pm Albert and Jamie Hill went to Jamie's employer's house to collect monies owed after a paycheck bounced. While Jamie was inside speaking with her boss, Margaret Baird, Albert was confronted by Baird's boyfriend, Samuel Bruner and his friend Dennis Nilsson as they waited outside.

Cape Police responded however no arrests were made because Albert Hill declined to press charges.

On June 2nd at 2:15pm Albert and Jamie Hill were bringing their 3 year old daughter home from the park. The three of them were walking in the median in the 100 Block of SE 24th Avenue.

Samuel Bruner was visiting his father, who lives across the street from the Hills. Bruner came outside and confronted Albert Hill and told Hill that he was going to kill him because he called the police the previous night. Burner pulled out a pistol and pointed it in the direction of Hill, his wife and 3 year old child. Burner called Hill a snitch and fired the pistol in their direction. No one was shot.

Albert Hill told his wife to run into their apartment with their daughter; Albert remained outside so Bruner wouldn't go in the direction of his family. As Hill yelled to Bruner that the police were called, Bruner fled the scene with his girlfriend Margaret Baird.

Detectives arrived on the scene and the manhunt for Bruner began. On June 7th, the Cape Coral Police Street Crimes Unit along with the US Marshall's Fugitive Task Force located Bruner at the Sunoco Gas Station at 2709 Cleveland Avenue.

Samuel Bruner was taken into custody and charged with three counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

"This is an example of excellent Detective work and cooperation between Law Enforcement Agencies to capture this dangerous suspect. Samuel Bruner has a lengthy criminal history and the citizens of Southwest Florida are safer with him behind bars." -Lieutenant Tony Sizemore.
