Subject: Cape Coral Police Detectives Arrest Two Suspects on Multiple Burglaries

On July 12th Detectives Kordelle McKissack and Michael Toleman responded to the Buy and Sell store located at 2948 Del Prado Blvd regarding a woman who identified her stolen jewelry in the display case.

The woman was the victim of a burglary in which jewelry and electronics were stolen from her home. She was checking various pawn shops and second-hand dealer stores for her property. Detectives were able to get her jewelry back. Further checking into the transactions at the Buy and Sell revealed that Jeffrey Knavel of Cape Coral had sold the victim's camera and lens to the business.

Detectives now had probable cause for the arrest of Jeffrey Knavel on charges of Dealing in Stolen Property. On July 19th, Detectives with the Property Crimes Unit were conducting surveillance on Knavel's residence to take him into custody.

Several hours later, Knavel and Christopher Volk arrived at their residence of 3101 SE 16th Place. Detectives took Knavel into custody and began to question Volk.

Knavel and Volk admitted to committing several burglaries in the area over the past several months. Both suspects were charged with several counts of Burglary, Grand Theft, Dealing in Stolen Property, Criminal Mischief and Violation of the Pawnbroker Act.

Detectives are continuing to interview the pair about other open burglary investigations.
