Subject: Cape Coral Police Detective Invited to Instruct at National Conference

Cape Coral Police Detective Jason Behun, a training coordinator for the department, has been invited to instruct at the 28th Annual NTOA Tactical Operations Course and Conference in Richmond, Virginia from September 18-23.

The NTOA (National Tactical Officers Association) anticipates close to 1000 sworn law enforcement officers will attend this year's annual conference.

The NTOA is a national organization comprised of SWAT Team members and other tactical officers from agencies throughout the United States. The mission of the National Tactical Officers Association is to enhance the performance and professional status of law enforcement personnel by providing a credible and proven training resource as well as a forum for the development of tactics and information exchange. The Association's ultimate goal is to improve public safety and domestic security through training, education and tactical excellence.

"With great pleasure I would like to invite Detective Jason Behun to represent the Cape Coral Police Department as a guest instructor at our national conference. All of his expenses (travel, lodging and meals) will be paid by the NTOA. The experience, knowledge and skills of Detective Behun will undoubtedly enhance the NTOA's annual conference, and will bring special recognition to the Cape Coral Police Department for their outstanding contributions to this premier international training event."-John Gnagey, Executive Director of the NTOA.

Detective Jason Behun is a nationally known instructor in Police Tactics and works right here at the Cape Coral Police Department. Detective Behun comes to CCPD with 13 years prior experience with the Pittsburgh Police Department and has been with the Cape since 2007. Detective Behun works as a training coordinator for the department and is also a member of the Cape Coral Police SWAT Team.

Detective Behun instructed at last year's conference in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania as well and will be teaching a block of instruction on Barricaded Gunman Resolution Tactics.
