Today at approximately 0829 hours, CCPD was called regarding an attempted Robbery at the TIB Bank located at 2209 Santa Barbara Boulevard South.

Earlier in the morning a bank employee observed a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot which caught her attention. Shortly thereafter, as another bank employee was opening the doors, she observed two masked males approach the front doors of the bank in an attempt to make entry to the bank. The bank employee was able to quickly lock the door and call CCPD.

The robbers fled the bank and the bank employee was able to provide a vehicle description and a direction of travel. CCPD units searched the area and were able to locate the vehicle traveling in the 400 block of Trafalgar Parkway. A short vehicle pursuit ensued. The robbers tried to run from the vehicle but were caught at the corner of SW 9th Street and SW 6th Place. One of the robber's, was still wearing his facial covering.

Once in custody, Patrick Healey (01/18/1975) and Steven Mammon (11/20/1981) were taken to CCPD for booking and processing.

Officers were able to locate two handguns that the suspects threw from their car as they were being chased by police.

A search warrant conducted on the suspects' vehicle let to the discovery of bullet proof vests, gloves, and bandana's (used to cover their faces).

"This was an excellent display of teamwork between the bank employees and the police officers that responded. This serves as a stark reminder of the dangers police officers face, in a year marred by gun violence towards officers here in Florida. We are grateful for today's outcome."-Lieutenant Tony Sizemore.
