Cape Coral Police Make Arrest in Overnight Convenience Store Robbery

(October 23, 2012)- Cape Coral Police have arrested Timothy J Holden, 28 of North Fort Myers for an overnight Robbery at the 7-Eleven Store located at 1021 Santa Barbara Blvd.

Shortly after midnight, Cape Coral Police Officers responded to a report of a robbery at the 7-Eleven. Upon arrival, the clerk told police that a customer had brought two cans of beer to the counter giving the appearance that he was going to purchase the items.

As the clerk opened the register for the sale, the customer told the clerk to give him the money as he reached for his waistband, insinuating that he had a gun. The suspect told the clerk that he would shoot him if he did not comply.

The clerk gave the suspect a little over $100 cash. The suspect took the money and fled the store. Detectives and Forensics Personnel responded to the store and began investigating as uniformed officers began searching the area.

Approximately two hours later, officers from the 3rd Platoon located a male walking along Del Prado Blvd. The male matched the description of the robbery suspect. The male, identified as Timothy Holden, was in possession of the robbery money. Officers detained Holden while the clerk was brought to the scene of the detention. The clerk positively identified Holden as the man who robbed him earlier. Holden was placed under arrest and charged with one count of Robbery. He was taken to the Lee County Jail where he remains without bond.

"A quick call to police by the victim coupled with excellent work by our officers led to this violent criminal being taken off of our streets"-Lieutenant Tony Sizemore.
