Police Athletic League Conducting a SCUBA Class

(March 1, 2012)- The Cape Coral Police Department's Police Athletic League will be conducting a SCUBA class for kids beginning April 15th. This is a 10-week course involving classroom instruction, pool instruction as well as practical/certification dives in local waters.

The Cape Coral Police Department has sponsored SCUBA classes for kids through our PAL Program for 15 years. Our current assistant instructors are individuals that went through the program when they were in high school. We have certified over 400 kids and parents since the program started. The program is registered with NAUI and adheres to the NAUI rules and regulations for SCUBA instruction.

The program coordinator is a retired Cape Coral police officer and our instructors are volunteers who are NAUI certified diving instructors.

An orientation will be held at Cape Coral Police Headquarters on April 15th at 7pm. Information regarding class structure, expectations and general information on how the class works will be discussed at the orientation. The cost is $50 for those under 18 years of age. Cost and other issues will be discussed at the orientation. You need not register for the orientation; simply show up (parents and children) on April 15th at 7pm at Police Headquarters located at 1100 Cultural Park Blvd.
