CCPD DO THE RIGHT THING NOMINATIONS BEING SOUGHT

(June 27, 2012)- The Cape Coral Police Department's "Do The Right Thing" youth recognition program is once again looking for kids in our community who are doing good things over the summer.

For 18 years, the Cape Coral Police Department has been awarding students who attend Cape Coral schools for their positive actions and attitudes through the "Do The Right Thing" program.

These actions may include:

* writing letters to military personnel

* earning money for a charity or donating their time

* cleaning litter from a park

* saving a life

* taking a stand against bullying

* showing concern for wildlife

* looking after an elderly neighbor

* collecting canned goods for the food bank

If you know of a student who has done something worthy of recognition, the Cape Coral Police Department would like to know about it. Please take a few minutes to fill out a nomination form which can be obtained by calling 239-242-3342 or print one from our website at www.capecops.com <http://www.capecops.com/> and mail it to Cape Coral Police Department, 1100 Cultural Park Blvd. S, Cape Coral, FL 33990, attn: Community Outreach.
