Cape Coral Police along with LCSO and the US Marshals searched an area of the SW Cape for a homicide suspect out of Broward/Dade Counties for 6 hours last evening.

Marshals received a tip that Felipe Torrealba 6/7/86 was in a home in Cape Coral earlier yesterday. A few hours later, he was seen fleeing the home on foot.

Cape Coral Police established a perimeter between SW 20th Ave, Chiquita Blvd, Pine Island Road and Trafalgar Pkwy. Over the course of 6 hours (8:30 PM to 02:30 AM) of maintaining a perimeter for this dangerous individual, we conducted an exhaustive search with the assistance of LCSO aviation, 4 CCPD K-9’s, 8 LCSO K-9’s, and numerous patrol officers for containment as well as security for K-9 teams.  However, units were unsuccessful in apprehending Torrealba.

At this time, we believe the suspect may still be in Cape Coral.  Torrealba is believed to be armed and dangerous and we caution citizens not to approach him if he is seen.  We ask that residents keep an eye out for anything suspicious and notify the Cape Coral Police Department imediately if they see something out of the ordinary.  Cape Coral Police will be conducting additional patrols of the area of the neighborhood and surrounding areas.  We will send out an update when Torrealba is captured and/or there is more relevant information we can provide.
