Cape Coral Police Participating in 2013 Florida Motor Unit Challenge

(October 18, 2013)- Starting November 1, 2013 and running through the end of December, the CCPD Motor Unit will be participating in the 2013 Florida Motor Unit Challenge. During this challenge, the Motor Unit will be cracking down on the following areas:

  • Aggressive Driving
  • Texting and Driving
  • Distracted Driving
  • Red Light Running
  • Speeding
  • Seatbelt Usage (driver, passenger, juveniles)
  • DUI
  • Motorcycle Violations (Equipment/Safety)
  • Other areas to prevent Traffic Crashes and Traffic Deaths

This is a statewide traffic enforcement initiative in which dozens of agencies will be participating.  "This extra focus on enforcement will carry us through the busy holiday travel season, and hopefully get drivers to be more mindful of safety while driving."- Det.
