Cape Coral Police Stepping Up Traffic Enforcement for the Thanksgiving Holiday Season
(November 15, 2013)- Thanksgiving Holiday Click it or Ticket will begin on November 18, 2013 and run through December 1, 2013. During this time, the Cape Coral Police Department will be conducting targeted traffic enforcement operations throughout the city during both daytime and nighttime hours. Personnel from the Cape Coral Police Department Traffic Unit will conduct these operations. Patrol Officers who are available will assist while these operations are ongoing and will also be directed to dedicate additional time toward traffic enforcement as call-volume and other duties permit.
Our busiest time of the year is here with our part time residents coming back to Cape Coral for the great weather and holidays. With the increase in the number of cars on our roads, the likelihood of a crash occurring rises. "We want to encourage all of our residents to slow down, obey the traffic laws, and of course, wear their seat belts."- Det. Sergeant Dana Coston, Cape Coral Police Department Public Affairs Officer.
"Our mission is to keep our motorists and passengers as safe as possible while they are driving and to help prevent serious injuries during traffic crashes due to drivers not wearing their seat belts."- Sergeant Patrick O'Grady, Cape Coral Police Department Traffic Unit.
