Traffic Crash Serves As a Holiday Safety Reminder

(November 28, 2013)-   Almost every morning, the Cape Coral Police Department sends out a morning greeting via social media.  We want everyone to start their day off right.  There is a reason why we say "drive safe heading in to work," or something similar  so often in our morning messages. This morning, someone has a lot for which to be thankful.

Early Thanksgiving morning, Cape Coral Police, Fire, and EMS responded to the report of a two vehicle crash in the 5100 block of SW. 16th Pl.

One vehicle was rolled on its side and the driver was pinned, in requiring extraction.

The driver is an EMS EMT who was on her way to work at the time of the crash.  The other vehicle was found to be at fault for disregarding a posted stop sign.

The driver of the vehicle that overturned was transported to the ER for precautionary measures due to the nature of the crash. She was conscious and alert at the time of extrication.

"We know that holidays can be hectic.  Slow down, pay attention, and arrive at your destination safely.  No one will be celebrating if you don't make it there in one piece."- Det. Sergeant Dana Coston, Cape Coral Police Department Public Affairs Officer
