Friday May 10th Marks 23rd Anniversary of Cornell/Story Homicide
(May 9, 2013)- Friday May 10th marks the 23rd anniversary of the brutal killings of Robin Cornell and Lisa Story. The Cape Coral Police Department maintains a strong relationship with Jan Cornell, Robin's mother, to this day.
Detectives still work on this active case every week, following up on tips and re-examining evidence. In fact, investigators on the case received a tip last week that they are following up on.
Jan & CCPD still has hope that this crime will be solved. She vowed 23 years ago that she'd never give up, never relent in her fight to see her daughter's killer identified and caught. In the last 2 years, there were a few leads of interest that unfortunately didn't pan out. Every year at the anniversary, we hope that the publicity is such that it reaches people - people who know or are aware of who is responsible for these murders. It is our continued hope that it reaches someone - someone who has some information and/or some answers.
Jan has said, "Thank you all. Every year I say 'this could be it!' I won't stop, neither will CCPD." Jan and CCPD are committed to solving this crime.
"We have the killer's DNA. It's just a matter of getting the right person. We have the key; we just need the lock that the key fits into"-Detective Kurt Grau.
