Cape Coral Police Investigate Shooting

(August 31, 2013)- On Saturda,y August 31st at 10:30pm two men traveling in a car, pulled into a carport in the 500 Block of SW 47th Terrace. A suspect got into the back seat of the car and pulled a handgun.

The suspect pointed the gun at both the driver and the passenger. A struggle ensued and the suspect fired several shots. Two of the shots struck the victim, Jamar Lee Martin 20 yoa, one in the face and the second in the shoulder.

All three men exited the car. The suspect fled on foot, the driver fled on foot as well. Martin stumbled to 500 Cape Coral Pkwy and flagged down a motorist who called police.

Martin was conscious and alert when he was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital. Martin remains at Lee Memorial Hospital in stable but critical condition.

Police believe that this was not a random incident and do not believe that there is an imminent threat to the public at large.

A composite sketch of the shooter was completed by Detectives.
