(November 11, 2014)- Cape Coral Police Major Crash Investigators are working a single vehicle crash that occurred overnight in the 4000 block of Palm Tree Boulevard.
Timothy Francis Holland, W/M, 1-14-92, of Cape Coral was driving a 1993 Mercury Cougar and failed to properly negotiate a curve and struck a tree. Holland sustained life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
The crash is under investigation at this time, but does appear to be alcohol/drug related.

VEHICLE 1 (V-1): 1993 Mercury Cougar.
DRIVER 1 (D-1): Timothy Francis Holland, W/M, 1-14-92, of Cape Coral, Florida 33904.
DRIVER 1 INJURIES: Holland suffered life threatening injuries during the traffic crash.
SYNOPSIS: V-1 was traveling South on Palm Tree Boulevard in the 4000 block approaching a right curve in the roadway. V-1 was traveling too fast and was not able to negotiate the right turn. V-1 entered into the median and the front left of the vehicle struck a palm tree at approximately 50 mph. V-1 cut the palm tree in half and struck another palm tree in the median as it rotated to final rest in the South lane.
Due to the severity of the traffic crash, the driver of V-1 was pinned in the vehicle and the Cape Coral Fire Department had to extricate him. The driver was unresponsive and was trauma alerted to Lee Memorial Hospital by ambulance.
MCI Satterlee and Forensics Specialist Fordham responded. The next-of-kin has been notified. The driver of V-1 is listed in critical condition in the ICU at Lee Memorial Hospital.
At this time, the case is pending further investigation. This traffic crash IS alcohol AND drug related.
