(November 18, 2014)-  Cape Coral Police are currently working a shooting at 1502 Del Prado Boulevard S.

At around 8:55 PM, Officers in the area heard what sounded like gunshots.  Responding Officers found a male subject with a life-threatening gunshot wound outside of the TJ Maxx store.    The victim was transported for treatment at a local hospital and is in critical condition at this time.

Cape Coral Police Patrol Officers quickly secured the crime scene and established a perimeter.  Initial information indicated that the suspect, a white male wearing a long-sleeve fleece shirt or jacket, fled the scene on foot, southbound from TJ Maxx.  Cape Coral Police K9 and LCSO Aviation responded to assist in locating the suspect.  Cape Coral Police Detectivrs and Forensics responded as well.

At this time, the suspect is still at large.  This is an active crime scene and investigation at this hour.  We will provide updates as information becomes available.
