Cape Coral Police Investigate Serious Injury Crash


(May 15, 2014)- Yesterday evening, a motorcyclist who took off on an officer that was trying to stop him for his erratic driving, crashed in a South Cape Coral neighborhood.  The rider sustained life-threatening injuries and was sent as a trauma-alert to Lee Memorial Hospital.  Cape Coral Police Department Traffic Homicide Investigator (THI) and Forensics personnel responded to the scene to investigate.  The investigation is ongoing at this time.  The initial synopsis of the THI is below:

VEHICLE 1: A 2006 Orange Honda Motorcycle.
DRIVER 1: Jeffrey Paul Larrimore Jr., W/M, DOB 01/31/1993, of 2238 SW 1st St, Cape Coral.
DRIVER 1 INJURIES: Larrimore suffered life threatening injuries.

SYNOPSIS:  Larrimore was operating V-1 (a motorcycle) and traveling north on Del Prado Blvd at a high rate of speed when an Officer noticed V-1. The Officer attempt to stop V-1, however  Larrimore turned onto Shelby Pkwy and fled from the Officer at a high rate of speed.  As V-1 traveled west on Shelby Pkwy Larrimore  accelerated to speed in excess of 100mph in a 35 mph and attempted to overtake another vehicle traveling in the same direction by passing it in the bicycle lane. As Larrimore was traveling in the bicycle lane, V-1 left the road and entered into the yard of the residence of 1411 Shelby Pkwy and struck the mail box of the residence.  V-1 then continued traveling west, passing through several yards, striking a shrub at the residence of 1403 and a parked mini-van in the driveway of the residence 1329 Shelby Pkwy. After striking the mini-van, V-1 continued west and struck a concrete flower bed at which point Larrimore was ejected from V-1.  Larrimore continued to travel west, coming to final rest under a parked car in the driveway of the residence at 1325 Shelby Pkwy. V-1 also continued to travel west, striking a mailbox and came to final rest in the front yard of 1321 Shelby Pkwy.

Lee County EMS trauma alerted Larrimore to Lee Memorial Hospital with life threatening injuries and is currently listed in critical condition at Lee Memorial Hospital. 

Larrimore was wearing safety gear (helmet) at the time of the traffic crash.  Due to injury severity, Traffic Homicide Investigators Satterlee, Green, and Slover, along with Forensics responded.

This case is pending further investigation.  Next-of-kin has been notified.

This Crash is NOT alcohol or drug related.
