Cape Coral Police Department Needs Your Help Identifying Armed Robbery Suspects
(June 17, 2014)- On June 13, 2014, at approximately 9:25 PM, Cape Coral Police responded to Dollar General at 924 NE Pine Island Rd, Cape Coral, Lee County FL, in reference to an armed robbery.
Witnesses stated that two black males walked into the store using the front door. The black males were wearing ski masks to cover their faces and both were holding a black or silver handgun, possibly a 9mm. Both males ordered everyone to get to the floor, and then told a store employee to open the safe. One male told the employee if they did not open the safe fast enough he would shoot. Both males took all of the money in the safe (amount pending) and had the employee open the registers and took all of the money in there as well. One male went into the office and took the employee's purse. The employee said the males put all of the money into a plastic bag and ran out of the front door in an unknown direction. Witnesses believe the black males were about 6`00" in height and wore boots and ski masks.
A neighborhood canvass of the area was completed and turned up no results. Cape Coral Police Detectives and Forensics responded to the scene.
