Cape Coral Police Apprehend Armed Robbery Suspects

(June 18, 2014)-  Cape Coral Police have apprehended two armed robbery suspects who held up a Family Dollar store in SW Cape Coral at gunpoint.

Just before 9:00 PM, Cape Coral Police Department  received a call regarding two black males armed with guns, entering the Family Dollar Store located at 2614 Skyline Boulevard, Cape Coral, Florida.

Just as officers responded, the suspects fled in a vehicle.   A brief pursuit ensued as the suspects attempted to flee and elude officers.  The pursuit ended about a mile away when the suspects t-boned a vehicle at the intersection of Santa Barbara Boulevard and Veterans Memorial Parkway.  One person sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

"It is too early to know if these suspects are directly involved with other Dollar Store robberies we have seen in Cape Coral and in other parts of SW Florida. We will have to see what clues and information are revealed in the investigation that is ongoing.  We are proud of the rapid, professional, and tactical response of our officers.  Our thoughts are with the crash victim who was injured by the recklessness of these men and we hope for a speedy and full recovery."- Det. Sergeant Dana Coston, Cape Coral Police Department Public Affairs Officer.
