Cape Coral Police Department Needs Your Help Identifying Check Fraud Suspects

(June 19, 2014)-  Cape Coral Police Detectives need your help identifying two check fraud suspects.

The owner of a local business in Cape Coral reported that his phone lines were intercepted and all his business calls were forwarded to a local phone number he did not recognize.  The suspects in the pictures above then cashed and attempted to cash two checks using the account number of his company at the BB&T branch locations at 1621 Cape Coral Pkwy. W. and 1321 SE 47th Ter., Cape Coral.   When the bank called the business number to verify the large checks could be cashed, the subjects intercepted the phone call, identified themselves as the owner, and gave authorization to cash the checks.

The account number used on the checks was stolen from the mailbox of a company in the North industrial park. The suspects provided identification as “William Pooler” and “Lisa Reed”; however, these are of course fake names/ID’s.

Please take a look at the pictures above.  If you have any information on the identity of the suspects, please contact the Cape Coral Police Department at 239-574-3223. You can also submit an anonymous tip. Go to or text a tip- text CCPD+"Your Message" to CRIMES (274637). Finally, you can call Crimestoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS.
