As officers responded, they learned from numerous eyewitnesses that a tall skinny white male wearing a purple shirt, jeans, and a purple hat started a verbal altercation that began inside the business and continued out into the parking lot. Witnesses stated that the male reportedly pulled a pistol, pointing it at two patrons. He then fired a shot at the ground and into the air from a black semiautomatic handgun, stating, "I have a gun. I'll kill you." The victims were in fear for their lives and fled upon seeing the gun. Responding officers were told by witnesses that the suspect fled on foot, across Pine Island Rd.
