UPDATE- New Photos and Updated Suspect Description in Walgreens Robbery

(August 14, 2014)-  As of 4:00 PM, Cape Coral Police Detectives and Forensics personnel have been able to obtain better still images from Walgreen’s surveillance video.  See the photos above.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic, dark-skinned male, about 25-30 years old, 5’-5’3”, 150-160 lbs, short dark hair with dark “bushy” eyebrows, and a clear stone lower lip piercing.  Suspect had his tight khaki pants on, and was wearing a dark shirt with a white symbol and was wearing a red or orange t-shirt underneath.  Suspect also was wearing a red/white/blue hat with an American flag heart on the front.

The suspect entered the store around 1:20 PM and walked around the front of the store until the last customer left.  He then approached the register and began to purchase a pack of gum.  When the cashier opened the register the suspect reached across the counter and began grabbing money from the drawer.  The cashier attempted to stop him and the suspect shoved her away.  The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash and the gum.  The suspect was last seen running across Santa Barbara into the Publix/Target parking lot.

Active Robbery Investigation- Walgreens (2409 Santa Barbara Boulevard South, Cape Coral)

 

(August 14, 2014)- At 1:22 PM, Cape Coral Police responded to the Walgrens located at 2409 Santa Barbara Boulevard S. on what appears to be a strong-arm robbery.  Preliminary investigation has revealed that a suspect shoved a store employee and stole an undisclosed amount of US currency from the register.  The suspect fled the scene on foot.  There was no reports of weapons.

Cape Coral Police Patrol, Traffic Units, and Aviation are in the area looking for the suspect who, at this time is still at-large.  Detectives and Patrol Officers are on-scene at this time.

The public will see a heavier-than-normal police presence in this area as we continue to look for the suspect.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his 30's, short stature (approximately 5'00" tall), thin build, wearing a white baseball cap, khaki pants, and a black shirt with a print on the front.  The male also had a pierced lower lip.
