(October 14, 2015)-  Cape Coral Police Detectives are looking for a suspect in a couple of early morning burglaries from over the weekend.

Between 5:20 and 6:15 AM on October 11, 2015, Cape Coral Police responded to two separate burglary calls- one in the 300 block of NE 8th Terrace, the other just a few blocks away in the 300 block of NE 6th Street.  At each residence, the homeowners were awakened by a person in the home.  When challenged, the suspect fled from each residence on foot.

Officers responding to these burglaries quickly set up a perimeter and attempted to locate the suspect with the assistance of K9 and Aviation, but to no avail.

Cape Coral Police Department Investigative Services Bureau Property Detectives and Forensics were notified and the scenes were processed for evidence.  Surveillance footage of the suspect was obtained from one of the residence.  The suspect was described as:

  • White male
  • 30-40 years old
  • black baseball cap
  • no shirt
  • white khaki shorts
  • flip flops
  • carrying a black cell phone
  • appeared to be intoxicated
