SYNOPSIS: Vehicle 1 was north on Del Prado Boulevard approaching the intersection of Pine Island Road.  Vehicle 2 was stopped on Pine Island Road facing West in the inside lane.  Vehicle 3 was parked in a parking lot (unoccupied) at CVS Pharmacy on the Northeast corner of the intersection.

Vehicle 1 ran the red light as Vehicle 2 began to start forward.  The front of Vehicle 2 and Passenger side of Vehicle 1 struck, forcing Vehicle 1 to rotate clockwise.  Vehicle 1 then rolled over toward the driver’s side twice.  While rolling, Vehicle 1 exited the roadway and entered the grassy shoulder, eventually striking a row of bushes and a large tree where it came to final rest.  During the roll, the front seat passenger (Cobb) and right rear passenger (Rodriguez) were ejected from the vehicle (neither were wearing seat-belts).  One subject came to rest in the grassy area behind vehicle 1.  The other subject, after being ejected, struck the outside rearview mirror and side of Vehicle 3 causing minor damage before coming to rest in the parking lot of CVS Pharmacy.

Passenger 1 and Passenger 2 were transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.  The driver of Vehicle 1 was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.  The driver of Vehicle 2 suffered minor injuries but refused medical transport.

Due to the severity of the crash and injuries, Major Crash investigator Cpl. Satterlee, Forensics personnel and Victim Advocates responded.  It is unknown at this time if alcohol/drugs are a factor in the traffic crash at this time.  The next-of-kin for all involved have been notified.

Investigation is ongoing.
