(December 16, 2015)-  Today, the Cape Coral Bike-Ped group was awarded the Injury Preventions Organization of the Year by the Lee County Injury Prevention Coalition.

The Cape Coral Police Department's Traffic Bureau worked hand in hand with the Cape Coral Bike-Ped organization as they were able to achieve Bronze Level status as a Bicycle Friendly Community.  This designation confirms the City of Cape Coral's commitment to safe and accessible environment for its citizens and visitors.

The group was also the driving force behind getting over 90 miles of safe bike routes identified and marked with wayfinding signs.  CCPD assisted the Cape Coral Bike-Ped with education and enforcement of Bicycle/Pedestrian Safety Laws, holding Bicycle Rodeo's and Summer Youth Bicycle Camps.
