(March 27, 2015)-  A routine check by a Probation Officer lands a Cape Coral man behind bars.

Last night, Cape Coral Police responded to 107 SE 5 Ave. to assist a probation officer who was checking on a probationer.  While conducting the check, the Probation Officer discovered narcotics at the residence where the probationer, Jorge Alberto Hernandez, lives and he contacted the Cape Coral Police Department.

Cape Coral Police Patrol and Vice, Intelligence, and Narcotics Detectives responded.  A search warrant was obtained and a further search of the residence yielded 28.1 grams of crack cocaine, $1200 of US Currency, and digital scales.

Hernandez was placed under arrest for Trafficking in Cocaine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Violation of Probation and transported to Lee County Jail.
