(June 17, 2015)-  An altercation in front of a house  escalated into gunfire in a NE Cape Coral neighborhood last night.

At around 7:30 PM, Cape Coral Police responded to the 300 block of NE 24 Ave. On a 9-11 hang-up.

As Officers arrived, they quickly learned that a road rage incident took place between 2 vehicles in the neighborhood NE of Hancock Bridge Pkwy/Hunter.  During the altercation, two subjects fired guns at a vehicle, a Dodge pickup truck, in the 300 block of NE 24th Ave.  The Dodge pickup sped off from the scene, and the vehicle was located in North Fort Myers a short time later.

Patrol, Detectives, and Forensics personnel responded to the scene last night.  The road was blocked off for several hours as the crime scene was processed.  

The investiation is ongoing.  Detectives have reason to believe that this was not a random incident and that some of the parties involved are known to one another.  There were no reported injuries.  At this time, no arrests have been made.
