(June 4, 2015)- Two Cape Coral teens are behind bars after shooting up a car in SW Cape Coral back in March.
On March 21, 2015 at around 3:00 AM, Cape Coral Police were called to a residence in the 2700 block of SW 13 Avenue after the victim was awaken by the sounds of gunfire outside his home. When he went outside to see what was happening, he found his car, a black BMW 328i, had been severely damaged by gunfire.
Cape Coral Police Patrol, Forensics, and responded to the scene. Numerous spent rifle rounds and shotgun shells were located and recovered.
Investigation revealed that there had been ongoing problems between Vincent J. Favazza, (W/M, DOB: 05-29-1998, of Cape Coral) and another subject who lives in the area where the shooting occurred. The other subject (or rather, intended victim) in question just happens to also drive a black BMW.
Over the last several weeks and after interviewing several people, Detectives learned that Favazza and a friend of his, Cameron Patrick Michael Duffy (W/M, DOB: 09-23-1995, of Cape Coral), drove to the location. Favazza armed with a shotgun, and Duffy, armed with an AK-47 rifle, shot the victim's car, causing several thousand dollars worth of damage, and fled the area.
On June 3, 2015, Cape Coral Police Detectives located Favazza at school (Cape Coral High School) and placed him under arrest. Duffy was located at 4113 SE 1 Ct., and was taken into custody.
Both Favazza and Duffy were charged with Shooting into a vehicle/dwelling and Criminal Mischief ($1,000 or more). Favazza was transported to the Juvenile Assessment Center and Duffy was transported to Lee County Jail.
