(July 31, 2015)-  The Cape Coral Police Department will conduct its fifth High Visibility Enforcement (HVE) operation, as part of its Impaired Driving Project, tomorrow night.

The goal of the Impaired Driving project is to conduct special HVE operations focused on impaired driving in an effort to reduce crashes, injuries, and fatalities attributable to impaired driving.

The fourth operation, conducted July 24, 2015, resulted in four arrests, three of which were for DUI.

This operation will be a two-pronged event consisting of a DUI checkpoint conducted in the southern half of Cape Coral in conjunction with a simultaneous traffic saturation patrol that will focus on impaired drivers citywide, and will be the largest operation thus far.

The operation will be tomorrow night, Saturday, August 1, 2015, with the saturation patrol running from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM.  The DUI checkpoint will be begin at 11:00 PM and run until 3:00 AM.
