(December 15, 2016)- A pair of not-so-skilled car thieves were busted after the owner's GPS-enabled vehicle led him straight back to his vehicle.
On the morning of December 13, the car owner awoke to find his Lincoln SUV missing from the driveway after mistakenly leaving the keys in the center console of the car. Unbeknownst to the car thieves, the owner had a Lincoln GPS tracking app on his phone, allowing him to track the car down immediately. He located the car thieves, Hunter Sanborn and Richard Randall III, both asleep inside his Lincoln. The owner contacted Cape Coral Police, and the pair were arrested for grand theft auto. Sanborn was additionally charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, while Randall had an additional active warrant.
