(December 26, 2016) - An armed burglar who entered homes while residents were still home in an attempt to steal gifts was foiled and sent to the naughty list, and also to jail.
On December 23, 2016 at around 6:30am, Cape Coral Police Patrol officers responded to a burglary in progress in the area of the 2000 block of SW 3rd Street. A homeowner had found a man inside his home taking items, and the man fled into the surrounding neighborhood. Officers located and detained the man, identified as Sean Frazer (DOB: 3-30-95). A handgun was located by officers in the front sweatshirt pocket as he was detained. Further investigation revealed that several homes and vehicles had been burglarized in the surrounding area. One vehicle loaded with Christmas presents had also been stolen and was located submerged in a canal.
Frazer was arrested and charged with several counts of both armed and unarmed burglary, grand theft, petit theft, carrying a concealed firearm and criminal mischief, and further charges may be pending. He was transported to the Lee County Jail.
Officers who responded to these calls went back the following day (Christmas Eve) with gifts in an attempt to brighten the holiday for those affected by this incident.
