(December 8, 2016) - Continuing efforts to combat vehicle burglary in Cape Coral resulted in another pair of arrests on Wednesday evening.

On December 7, 2016 at around 9:30pm, Cape Coral Police responded to a vehicle burglary in progress at The Crossings apartment complex at 1152 Hancock Creek South Boulevard. The caller said he had witnessed Austin Martin (DOB: 3-17-97) enter his car and take items without his permission, and that Martin had given the items back after being confronted by the caller. Martin then fled with his cohort Michael Greene (DOB: 7-19-94) who was standing nearby.

Officers located Martin and Greene in the area matching the description provided by the caller. Further investigation revealed it had been Martin and Greene who had burglarized the vehicle and removed items. The pair were charged with burglary of a vehicle and petit theft, and both were transported to the Lee County Jail in apparent good health.
