(February 3, 2016)- A traffic stop for running a stop sign in south Cape Coral quickly turned into much more yesterday.
Yepes was pulled over for a stop sign violation in the 4400 block of SE 8th Place. While speaking with the Officer, Yepes became extremely nervous, so the Officer had Yepes exit the vehicle who then took flight on foot. Officers quickly caught Yepes and took him into custody.
K-9 Ofc. Reese was on-scene and his partner, "Arca," performed an open-air sniff alerting to the presence of narcotics. A search of Yepes’ vehicle yielded 54.9g of “crack” cocaine, 2.4g of heroin, a loaded 9mm Ruger pistol, and small baggies used for packaging narcotics for sale. Yepes was also knowingly driving on a suspended license.
Yepes was arrested on charges of Cocaine Trafficking, Poss. Heroin w/ Intent to Sell, Carrying Concealed Weapon, Resisting Arrest w/o Violence, Poss. Paraphernalia, and Knowingly DWLSR, and was transported to Lee County Jail.
ARRESTED: Jonatan Yepes, W/M, DOB: 02-15-91, of 4618 SW 7th Pl., Cape Coral, FL.
CHARGES: Cocaine Trafficking, Poss. Heroin w/ Intent to Sell, Carrying Concealed Weapon, Resisting Arrest w/o Violence, Poss. Paraphernalia, and Knowingly DWLSR.
