(April 7, 2016)- A search warrant served yesterday at a NW Cape Coral home resulted in the arrest of two suspects and the seizure of over 60 marijuana plants.

Last night around 11:30 PM, the Cape Coral Police Department Vice, Intelligence, and Narcotics (VIN) Unit served a search warrant with the assistance of Street Crimes (SCU) and the SWAT Team at 51 NW 33 Terrace, Cape Coral.  The warrant resulted in the discovery of an elaborate marijuana grow operation and the seizure of 60 mature marijuana plants, weighing over 156 pounds.

During the execution of the warrant one of the suspects, Katia Gonzalez Ruiz, fled into the attic resulting in a considerable delay in the investigation.  She was additionally charged with resisting Officers without violence.
