(May 17, 2016)- Cape Coral Police Detectives are asking for your help identifying a burglary suspect.
On May 4, 2016, at approximately 1441, Cape Coral Police Officer were dispatched to 618 NE Juanita Court, Cape Coral, Lee County, Florida, for a burglary in progress.
The victim stated that earlier in the day while at home he walked into the garage and saw an unknown white male (possibly Hispanic) in his garage. Upon confronting the unknown male, the male asked him if he fixed 4-wheelers. During their brief conversation, the victim mentioned that he noticed that his Craftsman backpack leaf blower was in the backseat of the male`s vehicle. Once confronted about the leaf blower, the victim stated that the male got into his newer model grey Nissan car (Possible first two digits of Florida tag being “96 or 69”, and headed northbound on NE Juanita Court in an attempt to flee the neighborhood.
The victim stated that he got into his Dodge pickup and began to look for the suspect`s vehicle. The victim stated he located the suspect’s vehicle, which side swiped his truck on the drivers` side approximately ten feet west of the intersection at NE 6th Street and NE 2nd Place. The victim stated the male continued westbound on NE 6th Street at a high rate of speed, and left the area
