(May 23, 2016)-  Cape Coral Police Detectives have made notification to the family of the suspect in this morning's car burglary and Grand Theft Auto investigation that resulted in Officer(s) shooting and injuring the suspect after having a gun pointed at them.

The suspect is identified as Tre' S. Estes-Stalnos, W/M, DOB: 06-17-2000, of Cape Coral, FL.

Estes-Stalnos is being treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is still ongoing at this time.  Charges are pending.  Additional updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

"We are hard at work to bring this case to a close.  Detectives and Forensics personnel from the Investigative Services Bureau are working to process multiple crime scenes and charges will be forthcoming.  Additionally, Investigators from the State Attorney's Office and Detectives from our own Investigative Services Bureau are working to gather information to review the use of force to ensure it was in accordance with applicable law and department policy.  This review is standard procedure in all Officer-involved shootings," Detective Sergeant Dana Coston, Cape Coral Police Department Public Affairs Officer.
