(June 28, 2016)- Cape Coral Police are investigating a fatality crash that had Veterans Memorial Parkway shut down for several hours last night.
At around 6:40 PM, Cape Coral Police responded to a 4 car traffic crash at Veterans Parkway and Country Club Boulevard. A driver, who was traveling westbound on Veterans Parkway, experienced an apparent medical event and drove over the median and into another vehicle that was traveling eastbound. Two other vehicles collided from the crash. Several occupants were injured and one of the drivers died from the injuries he sustained. Major Crash Investigators Satterlee and Gray responded to the scene to conduct a Major Crash Investigation. Forensic personnel processed the scene. A Victim Advocate responded to assist with the families involved.

VEHICLE 1: Silver 2013 Hyundai, 4 door car.
DRIVER 1: Joseph Anthony Mancini, W/M, 42, of Cape Coral, Florida.
DRIVER 1 INJURIES: Mancini suffered serious injuries in the crash.
VEHICLE 2: Blue 2009 Dodge 4 door car.
DRIVER 2: Jose Abraham Nieves, H/M, 52, of Cape Coral, Florida.
DRIVER 2 INJURIES: Nieves died at the hospital due to injuries suffered in the traffic crash.
VEHICLE 3: Black 2015 Ford 4 door car.
DRIVER 3: Steven Scott Pawlowski, W/M, 50, of Cape Coral, Florida.
DRIVER 3 INJURIES: Pawloski suffered no injuries in the crash.
VEHICLE 4: Grey 2008 Toyota 4 door car.
DRIVER 4: Mireille Louis Jean , B/F, 54, of Lehigh Acres, Florida.
DRIVER 4 INJURIES: Mireille Jean complained of minor injuries in the crash.
PASSENGER 1: Sarah Louis Jean, B/F, 24, of Lehigh Acres, Florida.
PASSENGER 1 INJURIES: Sara Jean suffered no injuries in the crash.
PASSENGER 2: Marc Louis Jean, 22, of Lehigh Acres, Florida.
PASSENGER 2 INJURIES: Marc Jean suffered no injuries in the crash.
SYNOPSIS: Vehicle 1 was west on Veterans Memorial Parkway in the left hand turn lane approaching the intersection with Country Club Boulevard. Vehicle 2 was east on Veterans Memorial Parkway in the left hand lane. Vehicle 1 crossed over the center median and into the eastbound inside lane, where the front of Vehicle 1 struck the front of Vehicle 2. Vehicle 2 came to rest in the roadway. Vehicle 1 then spun and crossed back over the median and struck Vehicle 3 who was stopped in the inside south turn lane. Vehicle 1 continued west where the rear of Vehicle 1 struck the front of Vehicle 4 and came to rest in the inside east lane of Veterans Memorial Parkway.
The driver of Vehicle 1 and Vehicle 2 were trauma alerted to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. The driver of Vehicle 1 is listed in critical but stable condition. The driver of Vehicle 2 died at the hospital due to injuries suffered in the crash.
MCI Officers Satterlee and D. Gray, Forensic personnel, and Victim Advocate responded. The next-of-kins HAVE BEEN contacted. This traffic crash IS NOT alcohol/drug related. Veterans Memorial Parkway was shut down for several hours. Case pending Traffic Homicide Investigation.
