(June 5, 2016)- Cape Coral Police Department are working a hit and run in NW Cape Coral that has sent one person to the hospital in critical condition.
At around 1:00 AM, Cape Coral Police responded to a unknown problem in reference to a male found lying on the roadway with severe injuries in the 1700 block of NW 18th Terrace. The male was trauma alerted to a local hospital. Major Crash Investigator responded to take over the investigation. Forensics personnel and Victim Advocates responded to assist.
The name of the injured subject is being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin.
Video surveillance from a nearby home picked up a light colored KIA soul driving in the area around the time of the accident. The below picture is of a similar vehicle. The black rubber cladding found on the doors of this KIA were also very noticeable on the suspect vehicle. This is a feature that is not on the brand new KIA Souls currently on the lot a Fuccillo Kia. Major Crash Investigators believe the suspect vehicle will have front-end damage near the passenger side.
