(June 5, 2016)- Cape Coral Police Major Crash Investigator has released the name of the victim in a hit and run crash that occurred last night.
The preliminary synopsis of the Major Crash Investigator is below:

TIME: 12:59 AM
LOCATION: 1700 block NW 18 Terrace
ASSIGNED MCI: M/Cpl. Andrew Satterlee
VEHICLE 1: Light color (white/silver) Kia Soul, unknown tag.
PEDESTRIAN: Michael Christian Park, W/M, 18, of Cape Coral, Florida.
PEDESTRIAN INJURIES: Park suffered life threatening injuries.
SYNOPSIS: A Pedestrian, Michael Park, was walking east on NW 18 Terrace. A vehicle traveled east on the same street and struck the Pedestrian. The vehicle then left the area. A person driving by located the Pedestrian lying in the roadway and called 9-1-1. Park was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with life threatening injuries, where he currently remains. Cape Coral Police received the traffic crash call at 12:59 AM, but the crash appears to have happened between 11:PM and 12:30 AM.
Major Crash Investigator Satterlee, Forensics personnel, and Victims Advocate Lucas responded. The next of kin HAS BEEN notified. It is unknown if this traffic crash was alcohol/drug related. A criminal investigation is ongoing.
Video surveillance of the street shows a light in color Kia Soul travel East on NW 18 Terrace and interact directly in the area where the Pedestrian was walking. The vehicle has possible damage to the right front/side of the vehicle with possible hood damage.
