(January 9, 2017)-  Yesterday evening, officers responded to a report of a man shot near 4800 Triton Ct. The caller provided a description of a possible vehicle involved in the shooting to responding officers.

Officers located the first subject who sustained a gunshot wound.  That subject was transported to a local hospital.  Other officers, who were BOLOing for the vehicle, located it and conducted a high-risk traffic stop on Del Prado Boulevard South, near Veterans Memorial Parkway.  Inside the car, officers discovered a second person suffering from a gunshot wound.  That subject was also transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Further investigation revealed the shooting likely occurred near Four Freedoms Park.  Investigative Services Bureau Major Crimes detectives, Forensics, and K-9 responded to assist with the investigation.  The Public Affairs Office was notified and a Ping4alert was sent for both the scene on Del Prado and the police activity at Four Freedoms Park.  Two vehicles have been seized for detectives.

Detectives do not believe that there is a third-party shooter at-large or that this was a random incident.  While the incident was not directly related to the park, park-goers and parents can expect to see increased police patrols in the area to allay any concerns.  Names of the involved parties are not being released at this time.  Both subjects survived their wounds and the investigation is on-going. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
