(February 1, 2017) - An operation between the Cape Coral Police Department's Street Crimes Unit and Vice, Intelligence & Narcotics Unit brought down a heroin dealer who was selling not only within 1000 feet of a school, but in the presence of a child.
The VIN Unit began an investigation into Quinton McCray (DOB: 8-2-82) based on detailed intelligence information cultivated by Street Crimes Officer Green. During the investigation, controlled operations were conducted and a search warrant was obtained for McCray's residence. With the assistance of the Street Crimes Unit, McCray was detained after leaving the residence with his four year old son and was found to have heroin in his possession packaged for sale. The Cape Coral Police Department's SWAT team executed the search warrant and the ensuing search of the residence revealed more heroin, for a total of 83.4 grams; a small amount of cocaine and Ecstasy; materials used for mixing, weighing, reconstituting mixed narcotics, and packaging narcotics for sale; and approximately $17,000 in cash.
McCray was charged with sale of heroin within 1000 feet of a school (2 counts), trafficking in heroin, possession of cocaine, possession of a controlled substance (Ecstasy), possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a structure to traffic narcotics with a minor present. McCray was transported to the Lee County Jail.
