(February 14, 2017) - An officer's sharp eye led to the discovery of concealed knives and drugs as a result of a traffic stop.
Officer Aley responded to a third party complaint of a suspicious vehicle possibly conducting illegal drug sales in the area of the 1100 block of SW 15th Place. Officer Aley was able to locate the vehicle, spotted it running a stop sign and made a traffic stop. Further investigation of the driver, Angelo Prada (DOB: 9-8-78) revealed both his driver's license and vehicle plate were not valid. K9 Officer McCreary and K9 Nate arrived as back-up and discovered marijuana and cocaine in Prada’s possession. Prada also had a 10” knife and an 11” knife concealed and easily accessible between the driver seat and center console.
Prada was arrested for possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, a concealed weapons violation, and driving on a suspended license. Prada was then transported to the Lee County Jail.
ARRESTED: Angelo Prada, H/M, DOB: 9-8-1978, of 804 SW 14th Place, Cape Coral FL.
CHARGES: Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Carrying Concealed Weapon, Driving while License Suspended
