(April 7, 2017) - The Cape Coral Police Department's Vice, Intelligence and Narcotics Unit (VIN) concluded a month-long investigation, resulting in two arrests related to the sale of heroin within 1000 feet of a school.
Within the last 30 days, the VIN unit conducted several controlled purchases of heroin from Courtney Williams (DOB: 6-17-90) in the area of 2430 Santa Barbara Boulevard South, and obtained a warrant to search his residence. Williams was stopped by the Street Crimes Unit and K9 officers shortly after leaving his residence, after which the warrant was served with the assistance of SWAT, K9, and SCU. The search of the residence revealed a small amount of heroin connected to Amber Brunson (DOB: 9-9-94), four firearms (two handguns, a shotgun, and an AR15 rifle which was found to be stolen), and cash.
Williams was arrested for the pre-existing charges in the investigation, including sale within 1000 feet of a school (Cape Coral High School.) Brunson was arrested for the heroin, and the cash and stolen AR15 were seized. Both Williams and Brunson were transported to the Lee County Jail.
