(May 1, 2017)- A male who decided showing off a gun at a McDonald's at 2:00 AM, compounded that bad decision with some others, getting himself pepper sprayed and landing him in Lee County Jail.

Sunday morning at around 2:10 AM, Cape Coral Police responded to a call of a male brandishing a firearm inside of the McDonald's located at 8 NE Pine Island Road.

Officers arrived on scene and and made contact with the subject, later identified as Alex M. Paz.  During the course of the investigation, Paz was found to be in possession of a black, .32 caliber Astra handgun, and was detained.

Paz became combative when officers tried to put him in a patrol car, kicking one of the officers several times.  Officers were able to gain compliance and get Paz secured following the use of OC spray.

Surveillance video showed Paz lifting his shirt repeatedly to display the firearm he had tucked in the front of his waistband.

Paz was direct booked at Lee County Jail as a combative prisoner.  Paz was found to be in possession of cocaine and Xanax which was discovered post-arrest, and was charged accordingly.
